SERMON SERIES INTRODUCTION
The world is broken; on this, we can all agree.
Wars rage. Violence fills our cities. Families fracture. Injustice feels unrelenting. Division runs deeper than ever. And no matter how much progress we make, peace always seems just out of reach.
We long for more. For a world that is whole. For relationships that heal instead of hurt. For a kind of peace that can’t be shaken. For a love that never fails.
That longing is not naïve. It’s not unrealistic. It’s the echo of heaven. Jesus taught us to pray, “Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” He wasn’t pointing us to an escape from this world. He was calling us to live differently in this world.
Because the Kingdom isn’t just a future hope; it’s a present reality. It’s God’s reign breaking into our brokenness. Every time someone forgives, every time justice is done, every time generosity overcomes greed, every time the gospel transforms a heart…heaven touches earth.
This year, we’re stepping into that prayer: Here as in Heaven.
We don’t settle for the way things are. We long for the way things can be, when God’s Kingdom comes here, now, through us.
