When you hear the word "cause", what (or who) immediately comes to mind?
When we think of the word, "cause", we think of Jesus. He came to Earth with the greatest cause of all, and then passed that cause on to us, the church. Jesus' cause can be best summarized in two Bible verses:
The Great Commandment: Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind; Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37)
The Great Commission: Go into all the world, make disciples of all nations, and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
Because of Jesus' example, Lifehouse Church has made Jesus' cause our cause:
REACH UP (Know God): Love God with all you have
REACH IN (Find Family): Love one another & make disciples
REACH OUT (Make a Difference): Love the lost enough to go into the world
Our desire is to align all of our efforts and resources with these purposes. These statements help determine everything Lifehouse Church chooses to do and not to do. We won't jump at every good idea. If an activity or event is not aligned with our purpose, then we don't do it. We understand there are other organizations that exist to meet those needs. Instead, we focus on OUR "cause".
