SERMON SERIES INTRODUCTION

Who doesn’t need a second chance?

Have you ever felt the weight of regret so heavily that it seemed impossible to move forward? Have you ever wondered if your past mistakes have placed you beyond the reach of forgiveness or redemption?

Does the concept of a “second chance” truly exist? Can we truly escape the consequences of our actions and find a fresh start, or are we forever defined by our past?

We all know what it’s like to wish we could go back and change something. Maybe it’s a mistake that hurt someone we love, a failure that derailed our dreams, or a choice that left us dealing with consequences we never intended. Life doesn’t give us “do overs.” In fact, our failures seem to compound into greater pain, regret, and shame…or at least, repressed regret becomes a burden and a stumbling block to any future hope or success.

But God…

Throughout the New Testament, we see God giving people fresh starts—not just to erase their past but to give them a new future. He doesn’t just patch up broken lives; he restores and repurposes them for his glory. This series will walk through five stories of people who received a second chance, showing us that no failure, sin, or setback is beyond God’s redeeming power.

God is the God of the second chance, and the only way we can truly be made new.
