SERMON SERIES INTRODUCTION
Have you noticed how tired you feel lately?
Not your body—that can be fixed with a nap. Not your mind—you can clear that with a weekend away. This fatigue is deeper than what can be diagnosed. It’s your soul, the deepest part of you, that feels worn down, restless, anxious, maybe even numb.
We live in a world that doesn’t know how to care for the soul. We binge information but rarely pause for reflection. We push ourselves to the brink but forget to breathe. We scroll and swipe but rarely sit still long enough to notice what's really going on inside. And here’s the honest truth: many of us are spiritually malnourished.
But God has given us a gift: a collection of raw, honest, soul-shaping prayers found in the Psalms. The Psalms aren’t sanitized. They’re messy. They rage. They grieve. They rejoice. They wrestle. They teach us how to meet God in every emotional and spiritual state we’re in, and how to be shaped by his presence there.
In this series, we are going to spend the next several weeks rediscovering what it means to care for our souls in a weary world. Through five powerful psalms, we’ll learn how to thirst again for God, build emotional resilience, worship our way through hardship, surrender in trust, and find real rest in the peace only found through God.
